The next Open MIC (Quantitative Imaging @ Berkeley Workgroup) meeting will be in on Thursday, 8/27, from 11:30-1:00 in LSA 447.
The topic is Image Analysis and Quantification. On the agenda:
– ImageJ basics
– Object counting, with real world examples from UC Berkeley postdocs and grad students, using ImageJ and Imaris
– Object tracking – a brief discussion of flow analysis by Peter Walentek (Harland lab postdoc)
– BYOI (Bring Your Own Image) – if you have an image analysis quandry and want to discuss with the group, please bring your image(s) on a flash drive or laptop.
– Future Open MIC meetings, including our first annual MIC image & calendar contest!
Everyone is welcome, from novices to experts. The goal is to discuss and learn from each other in an informal setting.
Optional: bring a laptop with ImageJ/FIJI installed (download here) to explore all of the various plugins and commands during the discussion = hands-on learning!
