On Tuesday, April 26th, researchers from all over campus came to discuss “More Than Just a Pretty Picture: Acquiring Images for Analysis.” Jen Lee from the Molecular Imaging Center led the discussion on the basics of image acquisition, including an overview of detectors, how to obtain an image with high signal-to-noise ratio, and a survey of the most common types of quantitative imaging experiments – including controls, pitfalls, and what to do to overcome challenges. Participants chimed in with their areas of expertise, past experiences, and questions.
